The joint elements of District Intelligence Unit (DIU) in collaboration with PaMaMariSan Station Intelligence Branch and Warrant Section launched simultaneous manhunt operations in the four (4) cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina and San Juan from 5:00 AM of October 19 to 5:00 AM of October 20, 2018. The manhunt operations resulted to the arrest of fifteen (15) suspects, wherein nine (9) of them listed as most wanted persons in EPD.
In Pasig City, three (3) most wanted persons were arrested for robbery hold-up and acts of lasciviousness while four (4) were nabbed for theft, and direct assault and disobedience to an agent of authority including unjust vexation and resisting arrest.
The arrested Most Wanted Persons were the following: identified as Armando Polintan y Martin (Top 2), Oliver Ybanez y Lamberte (Top 3) and Thomas Robert Villar y Pedrido while the four (4) others who were arrested by virtue of a warrant were Jake Robles y Casing for stealing a passenger’s wallet, while the three (3) are relatives of Ybanez namely Christina Macawili y Del Monte, Josephine Calites y Baldosa and Ailyn Calites y Baldosa. The three (3) were all arrested for direct assault, unjust vexation and resisting arrest because when the police tried to arrest Ybanez, they interfered and utterred unsavory words to the arresting officers.
Moreover, in Mandaluyong City, one (1) suspect was arrested by elements of PCP 3 for violation of RA 9165. The suspect was identified as Denver Regala y Cuevas, a 24-year old laborer. Policemen recovered one (1) piece of heat-sealed plastic transparent sachet containing white crystaline substance alleged to be ‘shabu’.
In Marikina City, four (4) MWP were arrested for the cases of rape, statutory rape, homicide and estafa. The arrested suspects were: Jeman Taroy y Pena (Top1), 30-year old helper for statutory rape; Armando Saoi y Prado (Top 4), 42-year old delivery truck driver for rape; Sergio Mensorado y de Guzman (Top 7), 49 years old for homicide; and Celestial Reyes y Domingo, 63-year old housekeeper for estafa through falsification of public documents.
Thus, San Juan City Police had arrested one (1) wanted person for riding in tandem by virtue of warrant of arrest. The suspect was identified as Jonathan Valenzuela y Molina, a 36-year old driver. Further, the EPD’s DSOU also arrested the top 10 Most Wanted of EPD identified as Guillermo Sulayao y Cruz, a 52-year old laborer. He was arrested for attempted homicide. All the above named suspects were arrested by virtue of Warrants of Arrest issued by the respective judges.
Eastern Police District through the leadership of PCSUPT BERNABE M BALBA, District Director, kept his word to watch closely, protect the community and hunt down criminals as we experience the “ber” months. PCSUPT BALBA said “our successful manhunt operations were purposely conducted because we are focusing on the intensified campaign against criminality and illegal drugs and crime prevention as what our PNP Chief OSCAR D ALBAYALDE and NCRPO Chief GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR directed upon us”.
PCSUPT BALBA also said, “that the aggressive manhunt operations and SACLEO are in line with the ,maintenance of peace and order during “BER” months in order for the stakeholders to enjoy a peaceful holidays.
