Members of the San Juan City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) nabbed a teenage boy for selling high grade marijuana whose drug transactions via social media following a buy-bust operations on All Soul’s Day on Friday, November 2, 2018.

In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Chief, PCSUPT BERNABE M BALBA by San Juan City Police Chief, PSSUPT DINDO R REYES said suspect identified as Idyanale Añonuevo y Molina, 18, out-of-school youth and residing at No. 6 Kawilihan St. , Barangay Maybunga, Pasig City. According to PSSUPT Reyes, the arrest was made after police conducted a surveillance based on the information that Anonuevo was a supplier of high grade marijuana “KUSH”, and targeting mostly teenagers on social media.

Teams of SDEU headed by Senior Insp. Edwin Malabanan and SPO3 Gerard Crisostomo caught the teenager in the act of selling dried marijuana leaves “KUSH “along Hoover St., Brgy. Addition Hills at around 5:30 pm on Friday. Before his personal delivery of the illegal drugs, the suspect initiated his drug selling transactions via social media Facebook (FB) and they were able to monitor the transaction from an informant who used to be the suspect’s customer. PSSUPT Reyes disclosed that the teenager suspect posted a photo and video showing off tea bags of high grade marijuana for sale and distribute to his customers.

Prior to the arrest a police poseur buyer was able to contact Añonuevo and he agreed to meet at a mall in Mandaluyong City, however the agreed meeting place was changed instead buyer instructed to meet the suspect in San Juan City. When suspect handed to the buyer a sachet of suspected high grade dried marijuana “KUSH” in exchange of P500 it was the signal from other police officers to arrest him. During his arrest police yielded additional 4 plastic sachets containing marijuana Kush amounting to P6,500 and buy-bust money used in the operation.

However suspect denied that he is a supplier of marijuana “Kush”, but admitted to police that he just bought the illegal drugs for personal use due to depression after the recent break up with his girlfriend. But according to Reyes, they found evidences that suspect used Messenger and other apps for his drug dealing activities. The teenager is now locked up at the San Juan City Police Custodial facility and will be facing charges of violation of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
