The Eastern Police District (EPD) Officers Ladies Club (OLC) headed by Mrs. Esperanza Balba in cooperation with District Community Affairs Unit and Development Unit, Public Information Office and District Health Service conducted teaching of Proper Hand washing Technique; Feeding Program; Medical Check- Up and Fluoride Treatment to the 45 pupils of Molding Optimism and Values Education (MovEd) Learning Laboratory (EPD Pulis Bulilit Beneficiaries) on February 6, 2019 at EPD Headquarters, Caruncho Avenue, Pasig City.
During the activity, lectures on techniques on proper hand washing was carefully imparted to the children and guardians by the EPD Officers Ladies Club led by Mrs. Balba and the personnel of District Health Service led by PSUPT MARI-LEN IGNACIO with the personnel of DCDU led by PSUPT MANNY T SINIGUIAN with the actual washing of hands through the rhythm of a “Happy Birthday” song. A feeding program and free medical and dental check-up immediately followed.
The activity was a part of the “EPD Pulis Bulilit: A Child-friendly Police Project” which aims to forge partnership, shape and influence perception by conducting child-friendly programs and provide free services to the Day Care Centers, Nursery Schools and Orphanages.
The project was launched on December 12, 2018 with a total of 45 beneficiaries with ages below seven years old from the MovEd Learning Lab. The MovEd School is the pioneer beneficiary of this project wherein other schools and orphanages will follow.
Among the EPD OLC members who actively participated were: Mrs. Esperanza Balba (wife of EPD Director, PCSUPT BERNABE M BALBA); Mrs. Lorry Quibuyen (wife of EPD DDDA, PSSUPT FLORENDO C QUIBUYEN); and Mrs. Hershey Reyes (wife of San Juan City Police Station Chief of Police, PSSUPT DINDO R REYES).
