The elements of Eastern Police District Mobile Force Battalion Intelligence Operatives led by PINSP ELISEO A SANTANA under the supervision of PSUPT HERMOGENES D CABE, Officer-In-Charge, DMFB arrested a Van Driver by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Alex L. Quiroz, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Br. 67, Pasig City for robbery/snatching with criminal case number 128369.
The Driver was identified as Mark Anthony Avila y Luces alias “Macmac”, 35 years old resident of Kangkungan Site, Villacrusis Compound, Napico, Manggahan, Pasig City. He was arrested in Gawad Kalinga Zone, Villacrusis Compound, Napico, Manggahan, Pasig City at around 12:21 AM of March 8, 2019.
Prior to the arrest, Intel Operatives of DMFB approached Avila to implement the said warrant but he tried to escape wherein he ran and climbed the roof and speedily leap on different houses which prompted the operatives to untiringly chase him with the assistance given by the elements of PCP-7 of Pasig City Police Station which resulted to the arrest of Avila. Cops recovered a replica of Magnum 357 revolver (fake) and a sledgehammer intended for him to use in resisting arrest.
Upon the arrest, the suspect was informed of his Constitutional rights and was brought to PCP-7, Pasig CPS for recording then to the Intelligence Office of DMFB for proper documentation before he was subsequently brought and turned-over to Pasig City Police Station for disposition prior to the return of the said warrant.
The case of illegal possession of firearm replica in relation to Article 1, Section 3 of R.A. 10591 aggravated by 2019 Election Gun Ban and Resisting Arrest was also being prepared for filing in court prior to turn-over to Pasig City Police Station.
