PBGEN CHRISTOPHER E TAMBUNGAN, District Director, EPD ordered earlier all the Chiefs of Police to closely coordinate to the principals of the Two Hundred Forty Four (244) Public Schools in the areas of PAMAMARISAN (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan City) as well as to the Local Government Units and Force Multipliers that will conduct traffic management, implementation of city ordinances related to illegal vendors, street food and illegal parking, to ensure that all the students will be safe.

PBGEN CHRISTOPHER E TAMBUNGAN said “Before the opening of classes, the conduct of Oplan Galugad will be done in the slum areas, within 100 meter radius near the schools, to make certain that the vicinity of the schools will be free from hold-uppers, snatchers, drug peddlers, and other criminals that will possibly victimize students as well as teachers”.

Meanwhile, there will also be enough PNP Personnel who will man the 102 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) that will be established within the vicinity of schools, where emergency numbers are posted when the need arises. The PNP personnel who will be manning the PADS will conduct foot patrolling within the perimeter of the schools and will take post again on the PADs on time of dismissals.

PBGEN TAMBUNGAN also added that, “Security is our top priority and our personnel are more than ready to extend assistance to public school that requested our assistance for a safe, orderly and peaceful learning environment for the incoming students”.
