A total of 27 participants who are police comissioned officers of PaMaMariSan participated in a two-day Human Rights Refresher Seminar conducted at EPD Headquarters, Conference Room, Caruncho Avenue, Brgy. Malinao, Pasig City.
As what the lecturer from PNP Human Rights Affairs Office, PLTCOL JOEL M USMAN, taught, this seminar allowed participants to develop their knowledge and skills on human rights-based policing, deepen their sense of respect on human rights and empower them to take appropriate action on violations, be conscious of the key human rights principles and application to detention, develop the capacity in dealing with various complaints and the corresponding treatment for victims of crime with compassion and respect and apply human rights values and integrate them into work.
PBGEN JOHNSON C ALMAZAN, EPD District Director, encouraged the participants to apply it every day as part of their police functions. He believed that this seminar will greatly contribute to maintain respect, peace, order and equality in the community. The activity was wrapped with awarding of certificates, some impressions and photo opportunity with the participants.
