A former detainee in Manila City for theft charges was arrested for drug peddling is back behind bars now in San Juan City following a buy-bust operation the other night.
In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) Director PBGEN JOHNSON C ALMAZAN by San Juan City Police Chief, PCOL ARIEL R FULO showed suspect was identified as Edgar Angeles, 37, tricycle driver and resident at No. 64 A. Rita Street, Brgy. Batis, San Juan City.
According to Fulo, Angeles was runner of illegal drugs catering to tricycle drivers was busted at around 10:50 PM by members of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) headed by PCPT EDWIN A MALABANAN during a buy-bust operation in an alley at Dr. P. Narciso St., Brgy. Corazon de Jesus, San Juan City.
The operation was based on the information that suspect was involved in illegal drug activities. An undercover police agreed to meet at the place and handed the illegal drugs and took the payment. Upon pre-arranged signal, other operatives immediately arrested the suspect.
Authorities yielded another heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu. Fulo said, Angeles was a notorious member of Salisi gang and was jailed in Manila City.
The suspect transferred residence from Manila to San Juan City and then shifted into selling illegal drugs after he was released in jail last December when the case filed against him in Manila City was already dismissed. The suspect is back in jail now in San Juan City Custodial facility and this time facing charges of Violation of Sec 5 and 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.###
